Silicone Vs White Lithium Grease
We tested the 3-IN-ONE Professional Garage Door Lubricant, WD-40 White Lithium Grease, and Blaster garage door lube in the field. While all lubricants seem to quiet down the garage door, we preferred the 3-IN-ONE Professional Garage Door Lubricant with its built in straw and thick protective coating. The silicone element means the solution is long-lasting and is able to maintain its properties throughout a variety of temperatures. White Lithium Grease. The silicone grease has the ability to withstand the temperature that allows it to last for a long time. Additionally, this type of grease can easily reach the difficult locations and offer waterproof protection to the garage door. White Lithium Grease. It is another amazing option that created by a mixture of oil and soap. An effective lithium grease will protect against friction and create a moisture-reducing barrier. Quality silicone spray products will also protect, waterproof and help preserve the materials in your garage door. Both lithium and silicone should withstand extreme cold and heat, which is perfect for garage door application. Empirically, I don't trust white lithium grease because of this. So I'd go with either a teflon lubricant or my current favorite, Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease. The Mobil Synthetic is cheap, smells and looks nice and seems to stick and lubricate very well.
Grease and anti-seize are popular options for industrial assembly processes. Yet while they both aid in end-product functionality and durability, it’s important to understand their distinct differences.
Grease
Ideal for fast-moving, low load applications, grease is formulated with a base oil and a thickener. Containing no solids or low solids, grease enables parts, such as high-speed automotive ball bearings, to move rapidly without making contact.

However, grease alone is not suitable for extremely high load and/or very high temperature applications. This is because the oil burns off around 400°F, and its film is not strong enough to hold against pressure from asperity contact.
Anti-Seize
Designed to convert torque to tightening force more efficiently, anti-seize is formulated with high solids content and a carrier grease. Because of its high solids content, anti-seize can handle high load applications while still providing lubrication and friction reduction.

However, anti-seize is not suitable for fast-moving applications, as its high solids content can cause parts to jam.
Yet unlike grease, the solid lubricant in anti-seize can withstand high temperatures and protect parts from galling and seizure even under extremely stressful environments. This makes it ideal for many nut, bolt and press fit applications.
